English Class Gets a Bad Rap

The best class in college was English class. Although, I could be biased since I am an English major. However, English is very imperative to everyday life, and is taken for granted. People think that English is boring or that the people who take the classes are elitist; none of that is true. I like English because it expands my horizons and allows me to lose myself in reading for awhile. There is something fantastic about becoming absorbed in a novel and the outside world no longer matters. Plus, so many people do not speak well these days, English is so important to master.

Improve Your Life and Health by Owning Cats

My favorite animal, hands down, would be a cat. I have two cats of my own, and find them to be loveable, cute, and friendly. Cats are very well behaved, whereas dogs can sometimes jump or be loud. Cats are also small enough that they do not make much of a mess. I have also noticed that having cats has made me feel better. Whenever I feel down or upset, they comfort me, and my stress is relieved when I pet or brush them. Domestic pets are good for your health, and cats are great for lowering blood pressure. I feel a sense of calm when I relax with my cats, plus, they are very cute!

The Joy of Facebook

Facebook is by far my favorite website. As a college student with a part time job, I rarely get a chance to spend quality time with my close friends, let alone keep in touch with acquaintances. Facebook easily allows me to do just that. I can see what my friends are up to, keep in contact with them, and interact virtually within a few minutes. I am able to feel less disconnected and maintain the ties that are so valuable to us all. Facebook is also very easy to use, and because of the new upgrades, much more secure than it ever was. Now I feel safe and get to have fun with Facebook.

Back to School

If I could do anything over again, I would like a do-over on my foray into law school.  I chose not to complete my degree, and it’s the one educational experience I regret.  I love what I do now, but on the handful of occasions I’ve gone to court or met with lawyers, I always think, “I could do that” or “I could do that—better.”  Unfortunately, I went to law school at the wrong time (too many upheavals in my personal life).  I like to argue, I have  a mind built for logic and precision rather than emotion, I have a strong ethical nature:  I still think I’d be a good—if not great—lawyer.  I still think about going back to school, even one of those evening/part-time law schools. It could still happen.
